A Little Bird Told Me

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.    We are keeping busy in our hot, dry summer.  I have not been in my craft room much and not in front of my computer either so I've had little time lately to visit blogs.

It's too hot to be outside so I had a play with some new stamps from Chocolate Baroque.  I could not resist ordering their new sets As Free as a Bird and A Little Bird Told Me.  It felt great to be in my craft room for a change:)  I also used a new Crealie die set that my sister brought over from the Netherlands... thanks Sis:)

The background is a combination of Distress Inks (with water) and Distress Paints.  I used some stencils and stamped over with the bird cage.   I coloured the bird with Prisma pencils and carefully cut him out.

Crealies Dies:  CL CF 21 and CL CS 11.   I used white card stock to create the flowers which I coloured with Distress Inks and molded with stylus tools.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,
Shirley

Glad you are having a good summer Shirley. Well at least here in the south west the sun is shining but there is a cool wind which seems to have been a feature for quite a while now. This is a gorgeous card and the greens you have used are beautiful and the lilac and bluey green colour on the pretty flowers and bird show up so prettily against it. I love all the detail in the background and also the bird cage with its white dotted hanging chain. x

How beautiful. You really love the green, eh? The flowers are so pretty. I like this stamp set too. I hear you about visiting blogs. I actually have been deleting most of my subscriptions as they come in because my computer is ready to crash and is so slow. Plus it takes away from stamping time.

Very beautiful Shirley!
It makes me happy to see that lovely bird free outside the cage.
Happy August and stay cool.
We are headed for a stretch of very hot and humid weather here in Virginia too.
We had a few days with low humidity that were idyllic summer days.

Lovely background with the combinations of the DI products. So very soft looking. Beautiful stenciling and the leaf design worked so well with the birdcage and that gorgeous bird. Terrific pencil shading too. Loved the wonderful florals and flourishes. Will have to check the links, as I've never seen Creelies on my wanderings. I'm sure I'll see something I can't live without, and it's only available in the Netherlands!!! Stay cool. TFS & Hugs

Oh yes, the bird and your beautiful 3D flowers and the way you have painted this is all so lovely. I agree it is difficult to keep up with making art in summer and yet when we do then we always enjoy it.
